いろいろな野菜の葉っぱのシルエットを鉄板から切り抜き、これを溶接でつなぎ合わせて鳥の形を制作。「矢」となる部分は木の枝をイメージしているため、鳥は一般的なニワトリではなく、木の枝に止まる野鳥から選んでいる。カワセミは東村山でも見られる鳥で、特徴的な長いクチバシが風上を示す矢印となる。

The silhouettes of the leaves of various vegetables were cut out from the iron plate. These were joined by welding to create a bird shape. Since the “arrow” part is based on the image of a tree branch, the birds are selected from wild birds that perch on the tree branch, not from ordinary chickens. The kingfisher is a bird that can also be seen in Higashimurayama City, and its characteristic long beak is an arrow pointing upwind.
