ザ・パークハウス聖蹟桜ヶ丘 / 2023年
ゆったりと流れる多摩川沿いに建つ高層マンション。エントランスは「土」をテーマとした空間デザインが展開されている。ナラ材ベンチから立ち上がる鉄のアートワークは、土から立ち上がる樹木をイメージしたもの。天井の木製ルーバーと座面を視覚的に繋ぎ、同時に座面上の間仕切りの役割を担っている。
遠目に見ると平面的な構成のパーテーションに見えるが、実際は幹となる縦ラインを前後にずらした立体的な構成にしている。このズレが堅牢な構造となって本体の揺れを抑えつつ、見る角度によってシルエットが変わる楽しみもついてくる。
また、安全面を考慮して以下の設定を行った。
・座面からH650mm以下のエリアは横枝を入れない。（よじ登りの足がかり排除）
・枝の飛び出しは、全て15mm以下にする。（引っかかり防止）
・隙間は全て、φ25mmの円が通り抜けるサイズにする。（指挟み防止）
・枝分かれの角度は、全て60度以上にする。（指挟み防止）
・隙間は全て、157mm x 100mmの長方形が入らないサイズにする。（身体挟み防止）
これらは一見、窮屈な縛りに見えるかもしれない。しかしこういったハードルをクリアして生まれた鉄の造形物は、この素材特有の緊張感と、人に優しい安心感・親近感を兼ね備えたものとなる。
Forest Bench
The Parkhouse Seiseki Sakuragaoka / 2023
This high-rise condominium stands alongside the leisurely flowing Tama River. The entrance is designed around the theme of “soil. The iron artwork rising from the oak benches is inspired by the image of a tree rising from the earth. It visually connects the wooden louvers on the ceiling and the seating surface, and at the same time serves as a partition on the seating surface.
From a distance, the partition appears to be a flat structure, but in reality, the vertical line of the trunk is shifted back and forth to create a three-dimensional configuration. This displacement creates a robust structure that suppresses swaying of the main body, while at the same time providing the pleasure of changing the silhouette depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
In addition, the following settings were made in consideration of safety.
・No horizontal branches are allowed in the area below 650 mm in height from the seat. (Elimination of footholds for climbing)
・All branches should protrude no more than 15 mm. (Prevention of snagging)
・All gaps should be small enough to allow a circle with a diameter of 25 mm to pass through. (to prevent fingers from being caught)
・All branching angles should be 60 degrees or more. (Finger-trap prevention)
・All gaps must be sized so that a rectangle of 157mm x 100mm cannot fit through. (Prevention of body pinching)
At first glance, these may appear to be tight bindings. However, the iron sculptures created by clearing these hurdles are able to combine the tension unique to this material with a human-friendly sense of security and familiarity.
